Join the Tribe Teaching team for an afternoon of Restorative Yoga and Music for the next 5 weeks. Restorative Yoga is an offshoot of Iyengar Yoga Practice developed primarily by Judith Lasater and to borrow from her book Restore and Rebalance Yoga for Deep Relaxation, "Restorative Yoga is the use of props to crate positions of ease and comfort that facilitate relaxation and heath" Sounds easy right? Maybe not so much. Now more than ever we are convinced that we don't have time to embrace stillness, there is simply no room for recovery, relaxation, restoration. So an effort to reinstate these critical elements of yoga practice back into our lives can present a unique and formidable challenge. Please come an join us as we work with this very accessible style of Yoga, it will offer numerous take-aways and opportunities for self exploration and learning.
What to Wear/Bring:
All props provided by the studio will be clean and sanitized for everyone's protection, students will be positioned in socially distanced locations in our spacious studio.
Starting April 10 and for the subsequent 6 Saturdays we will be exploring the Chakras. Each class we will practice poses, breathwork, and hand mudras designed to open one of the 7 Chakras. Near the end of the Asana practice, we will also be immersed in a sound bath using singing bowls that correspond to that particular Chakra. This will be an excellent introduction to the Chakras as well as a fun way of dipping your toe in to the waters of working with the energy body.
After class we will be joined by two of our community partners. Higher Evolution Fitness will share nutritional meal plans that will enhance the opening of the chakra that we practiced that day. Additionally Art Farm Forever will teach us which earth stones hold properties that enhance the opening of that chakra. Jewelry and Malas corresponding to each Chakra will be for sale after class.
